Sushi Roku Santa Monica

We recently had dinner at Sushi Roku in Santa Monica and overall had a decent experience. The sushi was fresh and nicely presented, but it did not really stand out. The flavors were good, although not especially memorable. When it comes to signature rolls, I would expect more creativity and interesting flavor combinations. Most of them were spicy, which made it harder to try something new or unique. On the positive side, the service was very good and the location is great for a date night. We also did not get a chance to try their cooked dishes, which might be where the restaurant really shines. Overall, it is a nice spot, just not as impressive as we hoped when it comes to sushi.

If you want great sushi in a world class atmosphere overlooking the Pacific ocean and the best time is during the sunset… this is a spot and don’t forget to sit at the sushi bar with Chef Jason….let him do the Omakase Chef’s choice…. Great vibes and the GM Mr. Robert Z is accommodating and professional with a genuine smile…. so for simple Sushi or special occasion, go visit Sushi Roku Santa Monica and trust the chef so thank you and great job and see you soon!

I randomly popped in for dinner here and it was terrific. Spicy miso soup, pear salad, and a spider roll were all perfect. In fact this was the best spider roll I’ve had in a long time. The soft shell crab was still warm so they must have fried it to order. There are outdoor tables nicely protected from the wind with a view of the water across the street. Service was good. Not cheap but not out of line with other options. Highly recommend.
